EMMAUS WEEK

Emmaus Week is a new outreach initiative. Students and Missionaries will be present on throughout the UNO campus inviting students into authentic conversations, prayer, friendship, and an encounter with Jesus Christ.

Day 1 – Pray for Open Hearts

Scripture

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me."
Revelation 3:20

Intention
Pray that students would be open to conversations and to hearing Christ's voice.

Prayer
Jesus, prepare hearts before we even meet them. Remove fear, soften hearts, and help students recognize Your loving invitation. Amen.

Day 2 – Pray for Courage

Scripture

"Be strong and steadfast; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9

Intention
Pray that Emmaus missionaries boldly witness to Christ with humility, joy, and love.

Prayer
Lord, fill our missionaries with confidence rooted in You. Give them the courage to step out in faith and the humility to love every person they encounter. Amen.

Day 3 – Pray for Divine Appointments

Scripture

"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9

Intention
Pray that God places the right students in the right conversations at the right time.

Prayer
Father, guide every step of this mission. Arrange each encounter according to Your perfect plan, and lead students exactly where they need to be. Amen.

Day 4 – Pray for Those Carrying Heavy Burdens

Scripture

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

Intention

Day 5 – Pray for Authentic Friendship

"I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father."
John 15:15

Intention
Pray that every interaction reflects genuine Christian friendship and hospitality.

Prayer
Lord, help us love others sincerely. May every conversation reflect Your kindness and become the beginning of friendships that lead others closer to You. Amen.

Day 6 – Pray for Conversion

Scripture

"And they said to each other, 'Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?'"
Luke 24:32

Intention
Pray that hearts are transformed by encountering the living Christ.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, ignite hearts with Your love. Open minds to the truth of the Gospel and draw students into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Amen.

Day 7 – Pray for Lasting Community

Scripture

"They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers."
Acts 2:42

Intention
Pray that students find a home at the Newman Center and continue growing in faith after Emmaus.

Prayer
Lord, build a community where every student is known, loved, and encouraged. May Newman become a place where faith flourishes for years to come. Amen.

Day 8 – Pray for Vocations

Intention
Thank God for every conversation, every invitation, and every life He has touched throughout Emmaus.
